Black Bear on the River

This picture was taken in Sequoia/ Kings Canyon National Park in California. The parks are absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth visiting. Both parks have a lot to offer, including; a plethora of wildlife, tons of hiking trails, camp sites, lodges, cabins, and fantastic scenery. The parks are SUPER impressive no matter where you’re from, but if you’ve never seen a giant sequoia (redwood) before, then prepare to be amazed. We went during the summer this year and we saw tons of animals, including this Black Bear (and seven others). There are easy trails and trails for backpackers, and the people who work at rangers stations are really helpful if you have questions. Just a reminder, if you’re going to be hiking here to bring the appropriate footwear and outdoor gear for the type of hike you’re going on!

This is a photograph of a giraffe silhouette, taken in Maasai Mara, Kenya. As i’ve mentioned before (see other Kenya posts) Maasai Mara is my favorite of the parks i’ve visited in Kenya. I find that it has the greatest proliferation of wildlife, and we usually have great luck here, there are tons of animals, especially if you are around during the Great Migration, and because this park is more touristed (still no where close to over-touristed though) the animals are a little less shy than they are at some of the more remote parks.

This picture of a male lion was taken in Kenya at one of the parks that we visited. ┬áSeeing lions is just amazing, it’s an incredible experience really unlike anything else, and it’s never EVER something that gets less special. The nature of Kenya is beyond beautiful, and I have to say I think that the lions are an especially good example of this beauty.
