Night Market: Fish Dinner

This is one in a series of photos taken at the night market in Luang Prabang, Laos. The Market is super cool, with fantastic shopping and a ton of places to eat. This is a picture of some of the fish that were for sale, there’s a nearby river, and i’m pretty sure the fish come from there, so it’s really fresh. The market is a nice, mellow place to hang out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely a bit on the bustling side, but the attitude is pretty calm, and all of the vendors are friendly. Theres a ton of really cool hand made stuff to buy, as well as some antiques, and pretty much any sort of not-cheesy souvenir you’d want to buy (this includes a pretty impressive array of teeshirts). The food that we had while we were there was really good too, and since it’s market food you can eat it on the go, or sit at one of the tables set up in the food alley if you’d rather relax and eat. If you’re a skeptic when it comes to street food there are also plenty of good restaurants around in town.

Fish- Mobile

This picture was taken in the wacky, wonderful, and weird city of San Francisco. San Francisco, being one of the major cities in Northern California, has a TON to offer. Some of my favorite San Fran places are the Cal Academy of Sciences, The Golden Gate Bridge, and Haight Ashbury. It’s a really neat city, and you can find a lot of interesting areas just by wandering around. We happened to drive past this on a recent visit there, I thought it was super cool, and pretty indicative of the awesomely artsy weirdness that can be found in this city. If you’re planning to visit i’d recommend looking into visiting some of the numerous museums the city has to offer, or looking to see what events may be happening during your visit. This is also a great place to go for music, check to see if there are any cool concerts or music festivals going on during your stay!

Fish for Sale

This picture was taken on a busy street in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok is a hectic, and at times, seemingly chaotic city. It has a weird balance with lots of peaceful spots hidden on crowded streets. I love Bangkok because it has a lively energy, unlike anywhere else i’ve ever been. One of the really cool things about Bangkok, and Thailand in general, is the food. Thailand has fantastic food, and a high availability of street food, which is cheap, and usually pretty good (as long as you’re careful street food shouldn’t be a problem, just don’t eat anything you wouldn’t eat when you’re at home). I’m not a fish person, but I loved the way this picture came out. This is just one in a series of pictures I took of food vendors on the streets in Bangkok, more to come soon!

Through the Water

Looking up through the water of the indoor rainforest at the Cal Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, California. The Rainforest is really REALLY cool, and in looking at this picture you can see orbs of light coming from the windows in the living roof on top of the museum. SUPER AWESOME!
